About Me
My name is Danielle Hoechner ("HAWK-ner"), and I teach Spanish 1-2 and 3-4 at Omaha South High Magnet.
My Interests
-
I love traveling, cultures, languages and learning.
-
I used to be a pre-professional ballet, jazz, and modern dancer. In my free time I like to do salsa, bachata, swing, and Lindy Hop.
-
I love hip hop dance! (Looking good doing it, on the other hand, will require more practice...)
-
I like to cook and try new recipes...especially ones from other cultures.
-
I like yoga, Pilates, nutrition, and holistic living.
-
I am a big proponent of self-awareness, social consciousness, and with it, social change.
Education
-
I recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO).
-
I have a dual major in Spanish and Education, with endorsements in teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL). I also have my TESOL certification.
-
I am currently pursuing a CADRE Master's in Education through UNO, with a specialization in urban schools.
-
Before pursuing education, I was a dance major at Point Park University for 2 years.
-
I've studied abroad in Lima, Peru, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and have also spent time traveling throughout Spain.
